About the Role

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Site Manager oversees the day‑to‑day onsite operations across various construction projects. This role is responsible for safety, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, materials logistics, site documentation, and ensuring high-quality project delivery.

You’ll be the on-the-ground leader ensuring projects run smoothly, comply with all regulations, and are completed on time and within budget.

What does this look like?

  • Oversee and manage all onsite activities in conjunction with the Project Manager
  • Monitor project progress, timelines, resources, and budgets
  • Conduct regular site visits, ensuring quality and adherence to plans
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, subcontractors, and trade teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation (reports, schedules, change orders)
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and health & safety regulations
  • Resolve onsite issues and escalate when required

What do you need to succeed?

  • New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4) or above is preferred.
  • Current Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) is preferred, but not essential.
  • Proven prior experience in construction site management, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Solid understanding of H&S systems, site setup, construction processes, and subcontractor management.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural, and shop drawings.
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst keeping relevant parties informed.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence is preferred.
