About The Role
We’re looking for an experienced and qualified HVAC and Refrigeration Service Technician to join our team and become a key part of our Hawke’s Bay Service Department.
Reporting to the Service Manager, you’ll bring your expertise and industry know-how to tackle a variety of projects. Your role will focus on delivering high quality service, repair, and installation work across various commercial and light commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems. From time to time, the role will also involve work on residential air conditioning systems as required.
This role is permanent full-time with a guarantee of 40 hours per week and may include weekend work as and when required.

You will also bring proven experience and strong technical knowledge within the HVAC and refrigeration sector.
Daily, you will be responsible for:
- Install, service, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to maintain timelines and client satisfaction.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and system commissioning.
- Support project delivery within scope, time, and budget.
- Coordinate installations and service work effectively.
Skills, Experience, and Education Expectations
- Trade Qualified in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Level 4 or Level 5) or 3 years’ experience.
- Current Electrical Service Technician (EST) Licence (Limited or Full), or an equivalent overseas qualification.
- Proven prior experience in commercial HVAC and Refrigeration service and maintenance.
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
- Competent with job management systems and reporting.
- Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence is preferred.
This is a senior position requiring the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates must therefore hold the appropriate certification to legally perform the role.
New Zealand-based applicants are required to hold a current Electrical Service Technician (EST) Licence. Applicants from overseas must hold an equivalent qualification and be eligible to obtain New Zealand registration, including successfully completing any required conversion assessments or examinations.
