About The Role

Are you passionate about delivering top-quality refrigeration solutions? We’re looking for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to become a key part of our Gisborne team.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you’ll bring your expertise and industry know-how to tackle a variety of projects. Your role will focus on installing, repairing, operating, and maintaining refrigeration and air conditioning systems – ensuring our clients receive exceptional service every time.

On a daily basis, you will be responsible for:

  • Installation, repairs, service and maintenance across various Refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Installation of domestic, light commercial, and commercial Refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Undertake and ensure tasks are completed to the quality and speed expected of a qualified engineer.
  • Carry out repairs on faulty Refrigeration and Air Conditioning equipment.
  • Make recommendations to replace equipment if the expected cost to repair exceeds possible replacement cost.
  • Collect data for job reports, assets reports, and quoting – ensuring all information and records are loaded on the job tracking system and/or company files.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning equipment and system – recording asset faults and reporting back to office with faults for further repairs pricing as required.

Skills, Experience, and Education Expectations

  • Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (Trade, Level 4) or 3 years’ industry experience.
  • Current Electrical Service Technician (EST) Licence is preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst keeping relevant parties informed.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence is preferred.
